KleanWater
WHAT WE DO
Goal

KleanWater is working to help reduce the number of children who do not have access to clean drinking water in India. We are starting off with targeting Rajupalem, a small village near the city of Nellore in the state Andhra Pradesh. Rajupalem lies in a fluoride hit area of India and therefore suffers from highly contaminated and unsafe drinking water. In order to help combat this issue, we are raising money to be able to donate water filters and tanks to public schools in Rajupalem. Currently, the students at these schools do not have access to safe water and KleanWater plans on changing that. Our goal is to be able to donate water filters and tanks to at least five or six schools in the village by summer of 2021. This will make a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of innocent children.

*Our plans have changed due to the pandemic, read our COVID 19 update below for more info*

GOAL REACHED

$1,520/ $1,500
Fall 2021 Goal
COVID-19 Impact
Due to the pandemic, our plans with KleanWater were disrupted. We could not fundraise effectively due to not being able to conduct any in-person fundraisers. We also planned on going to schools in India to implement water filters and tanks that would be bought using the money raised, but traveling there is no longer safe due to COVID.

However, we will not let this stop us from making a difference! We have now decided that since we cannot use the money to physically implement water filtration systems in India, we will be donating it to a charity that will have the resources to help complete our mission and work with us on updates!

Because we had completed our planning for the water filter project, we will push this idea into the Summer of 2022.
After much research trying to find a trustworthy organization that aligns closely with our cause, we chose Charity: Water for the fall of 2021. All funds raised by KleanWater during that time were donated to our campaign through Charity: Water, which aims to provide clean water to communities in rural India and Africa. For the spring of 2022, we will be working with The Water Project. Check out the events & activities page for more info and read our blog to follow along with our journey!
